The Label
The Nanok Kids clothing label derives from the Scandinavian tradition of simplicity and high quality, but it is designed in New Zealand and made from silky soft cotton and pure merino wool.

Why Scandinavian? - you may ask. The reason is, that I am Danish and even though I absolutely love living in my “new” country New Zealand together with my family, my every day life is still very much influenced by my Scandinavian heritage.

When I became a mother of two wonderful little boys, it became very important to me to pass on many of the traditions, the language and my love of Danish design.

The aim with Nanok Kids is to offer a range of quality kids clothing that will give children some of that famous and effortless Scandinavian cool.

Happy clothes made for children with designs that will let them express themselves and inspire their imagination.

The Name
What about Nanok Kids - the name? What does it mean, I can hear you ask. The name Nanok means bear in Greenlandish.

Since I was little I have been fascinated by the "big white land" and the "big white bear". I chose the name partly because Greenland is part of Denmark, but especially because I think Nanok is such a cute word.

In addition, it may over time, in a small way also help raise awareness for the polar bears and how they are struggling to survive.

The Articles
Nanok Kids is more than just designer clothes for kids. It is also a resource of useful information about kids, fun and fashion.

Here you will find informative articles on everything from kids swimwear and sun safety tips to the benefits of merino eco friendly clothing.

The information is based solely on my own work experience from the fashion industry, experience from being a mum, knowledge from travelling regularly overseas and research, research, research!

About New Zealand

I have lived permanently in New Zealand for about 10 years and it has a very special place in my heart. The people are friendly, the nature is stunning and the wine and food are divine - not to mention the beaches.

I have included a few pictures from near where I live, so you can see what I mean.

Amazing beaches on one side, glorious mountains on the other. How many places can you go sailing and skiing in the same day and then enjoy a glass of cold award winning New Zealand white wine at night? Not many - but you can here!

Future Goals for Nanok Kids

I have many exciting things planned for my kids clothing label and for this site. I will constantly be adding more cool kids clothing and informative articles about kids ski clothes and lots more, so make sure you keep coming back.
